Gatekeeper’s Ministries:

  1. Ushering: We love dependable ushers! Being an usher can often mean coming earlier or staying later. We have two different teams for the two Sunday Morning services. Ushers keep an eye on any needs, helping people find a place to sit when the auditorium begins to fill and watching for special needs. They are the first ones to help in an emergency, they shovel snow, put out ice melt, raise umbrellas, move picnic tables and even clean up after the service.

  2. Door Greeters: If you like to simply be friendly and open doors for people as they enter the House of the Lord, this might be a place for you. Singles or couples are welcome. Greeters arrive 30 minutes prior to service and stay at their post until the end of worship time. They are often the first point of contact for someone visiting our fellowship, so their role is very important.

  3. Security Team: Our security team members fill several different functions during service times. One is stationed at the security desk to keep an eye on all of our campus cameras. Other team members are posted near entry doors with an eye toward security issues. Our security team provides a safe environment for our main services and even special events like VBS. Team members can generally serve at one service and attend the other.

Worship and A/V Ministries:

A/V Booth - There are usually three people in our A/V booth for each of our services. The three posts are:

  • Projection PC (advancing slides for worship and teaching and running the lighting for the room)

  • Sound Board (mixing sound for the worship team, and pastor)

  • Video Station (running the cameras and the online webcast)

The A/V Director oversees and provides training for these positions.

On Sundays, the same team generally stays to serve for both, and the sound board person will often attend the Saturday worship team rehearsal.

Worship Ministry:

Those with a musical skill set may be interested in serving in our worship ministry. Our Sunday morning worship team serves at both services and also attends a rehearsal on either Saturday or early Sunday morning.

There are many other opportunities for those with musical skill. We have children’s worship and other small groups that can benefit from musical worship. An Application and audition is required in order to serve on the team.

Children’s Ministry:

  1. CM Registration Attendant: We have a registration process for children who check into our Children’s Ministry. The CM Attendant is positioned in the lobby before services and serves by greeting new families and helping them create a log-in. The attendant also troubleshoots problems, reloads labels in the printers and helps answer questions. An attendant could serve at just one of the services or at both, depending on preference.

  2. Children’s Ministry Leaders, Helpers, and Coordinators: We have openings for a variety of positions in a variety of classes from preschool through 5&6 grade each quarter. An application is required and training is provided.

  3. Nursery - We love our nursery attendants! If you love babies and toddlers and want to serve their parents by allowing them to spend time in worship service, you might want to serve in the nursery. We have openings at First Service, Second Service, or Wednesday evening Service

  4. Awana: Awana is a club-style Children’s Ministry that operates during the school year on Wednesday nights. We have openings for handbook leaders, game helpers, and teachers. With the exception of the teaching position, most of the other positions require a smaller amount of preparation than traditional Sunday School. The position requires an application and training is provided.

  5. Trail Life: We are a host location for Trail Life International, which is a Christian version of Boy Scouts. Our local troop is overseen by one of our Elders and the gatherings are typically once a month. You can find out more about this organization at www.traillifeusa.com to see if you might be a good fit to serve as a leader.

Youth Ministry:

Solid Rock - Our junior high group meets on Wednesday nights during regular service. If you love middle schoolers we are always on the lookout for support staff. Supporting Solid Rock is a weekly commitment.

Refuge - Our senior high group meets on Sunday nights. We also like to have a variety of support for this group and it also is a weekly commitment.

Other Sunday-related Ministries:

  1. Ride Ministry: Our CCO bus picks up people from their homes to bring to church services each week. If you are a good driver and like meeting and helping people, you might enjoy the ride ministry. Typically, our drivers are scheduled to drive once a month.

  2. Welcome Desk: Our welcome desk in the foyer is similar to a hotel connoisseur — it’s the place where people come with their questions. If you are friendly, like meeting people and helping answer their questions, you might enjoy serving in this post once a month or more on either Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.

  3. Prayer Team: We prefer couples to serve together in this ministry. Our prayer team couples stay after service for an additional 10-15 minutes to be available to listen to people's prayer requests and pray with them. Prayer teams only serve for either first or second service and training is available.

  4. Prayer During Service: It would be our desire to have people praying during each of our services in the prayer room in our Children’s Ministry Building. If you have a passion to pray and are willing to attend one service and pray during the other service, you might be a good fit for this important ministry.

Cleaning, Landscape, and Maintenance:

  1. Cleaning Team - We have a several person cleaning team and each team member covers a small area of one of our buildings. We often have openings for particular times of the week and particular tasks. There are also opportunities for less frequent tasks like window washing, etc.

  2. Landscape Team - In a similar way, we have our campus broken down into zones so that a landscape team member can oversee a particular zone for the summer to keep weeded and/or pruned.

  3. Mowing and Snow Removal- We will be putting together a mowing team next summer for our semi-weekly lawn mowing. We also keep a team handy for those early morning snow falls when we need to get the sidewalks cleaned up in a hurry.

  4. Maintenance - If you have a particular skill for working with wood, or plumbing, or mechanics, etc. We would love to hear about your skill and know if we could call on you then those needs arise.

Hospitality:

We have many functions throughout the calendar year that require a hospitality team — Men’s and Women’s functions, Church BBQs, Family Camp, VBS, and many more. We always like to know if our people have special skills like:

  1. Cooking for a crowd

  2. Helping others cook for a crowd

  3. Setting up and tearing down for events

  4. Sunday morning coffee service
